150 women to get training in different trades under PM’s skill development programme

NAVTTC DG says all women would be provided monthly stipend

FAISALABAD: As many as 150 women will get skills in different trades under the fourth phase of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme.

This was said by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Punjab Director General Haji Muhammad Dogar while addressing a ceremony in Faisalabad.

He said that all women would be provided monthly stipend. He maintained that under the fourth phase, women would be trained in tailoring and dress making, beautician, IT, cooking, fine arts, hotel management etc.



He said that PM’s Youth Skills Development Programme was under way successfully in the province which would enable women to earn their livelihood after completing the training.

MPA Madiha Rana said that Punjab government had also taken various steps for the welfare and betterment of women under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Meanwhile, experts said the technical and vocational sector in Pakistan was ignored for long. The government is now focusing to improve it to cater to not only the national but international market, they added.

They said the government is focusing on marketable skills that are in demand at home and abroad.
