‘My kids will not see this mess’: Filmmaker Jami shifting his family abroad over extremists’ win
Says be it the army, government or Imran Khan, all are involved to 'burn us all down'
The 21-day-long sit-in by religious protesters at Islamabad’s Faizabad Interchange finally came to an end on Monday.
The government was forced to accept Tehreek-e-Labbaik’s demands after an operation to break up the sit-in went awry and sparked violent protests across the country.
Though the demonstrations ended, uneasy soul-searching grew among citizens over the government’s capitulation to the protesters’ demands.
While some criticised the military for not “using force against own people” to disperse the violent protesters, others censured the interior ministry for its ‘botched’ operation.
Jami on item numbers: No difference between directors and pimps if they encourage it
In the entire hullabaloo, filmmaker Jami has decided to shift his family abroad, saying “my kids will not see this mess” as be it the army, the government or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, all are involved to “burn us all down”.
“…Army GOvt IK they all in it - to burn us all down. My kids will not see this mess. Enough of darkness and waste of life. Eat ur faith,” he tweeted on Monday.
The Moor dircector said he left the United States for Pakistan 20 years ago but “NO more” now.
Whereas some users requested the filmmaker not to lose hope, others agreed with him as it was “better to look after your kids’ future”.
He also announced leaving the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
