Paresh Rawal apologises for insulting the Rajput community
The 67-year-old earlier made derogatory remarks against the Rajput community
Amidst all the protest against Padmavati, Bollywood actor and BJP MP Paresh Rawal recently made the headlines for disgracing the Rajput community. According to Yahoo!, the actor compared the royals portrayed in the film to monkeys.
His statement was not well received by the Rajput community, particularly Karni Sena who have been leading protests against film. The Hera Pheri actor quickly apologised and explained that his statement was not targeted at the Rajput community but instead, aimed at the "Nizam of Hyderabad."
I love Pakistani TV serials, Indian shows are boring: Paresh Rawal
He stated, "My statement was not on the Rajput community. They are a splendor community in India and they make us proud. Nothing wrong will come out of my mouth against such a brave community. If anyone was hurt by the statement, I would like to apologise for it."
Previously, the Garam Masala actor also tweeted, "Our chai wala is any day better than your bar wala." This was said in response to the online magazine Yuva Desh which had published a picture of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi in conversation with Donald Trump and Theresa May.
Looks like Paresh Rawal can't decide if he wants to work in Pakistan or not
He later deleted the post as it was in bad taste.
