NAB will continue its endeavours to eliminate corruption from the society by pursuing its zero-tolerance policy against the corrupt and would adhere to the prescribed limit of filing references in courts within 10 months from receiving the complaints to filing the corruption references in the respective accountability courts.
He said in a statement released by NAB’s media department on Sunday.
Justice Iqbal said that the apex anti-corruption body has a 76 per cent conviction ratio, which would be further improved by ensuring transparency, merit, presenting sufficient evidence and flawless investigations to take mega and white collar cases to their logical end as per
the law.
“Through effective efforts, the corrupt would be brought to justice and looted money of innocent people in various cases would be recovered and will be deposited in the national exchequer,” he said.
The NAB chief added that cases of private housing societies, cooperative societies, which are under process in NAB for a long time, would be completed as per law.
He noted that a large number of government servants, pensioners have been deprived of their life savings despite receiving their money and are deeply disturbed due to this fraud with them.
Justice Iqbal directed NAB officials to conclude their cases as per law.
He further directed NAB officers to perform their duties with honesty, in accordance with law and without caring for anyone.
“NAB officers should present concrete evidence in courts, arguments in relevant the courts so that the corrupt could be punished.”
