10 more days: House census to continue till May 5

The house listing exercise in the country has been extended for 10 days on the directive of Prime Minister Gilani.

KARACHI: The house listing exercise in the country has been extended for 10 days on the directive of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. The house census will now continue till May 5. An official of census organisation said that the house count in some districts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa could not be completed by the April 25 deadline. The prime minister has given the census organisation 10 more days to finish the job.  Sindh census commissioner said the province did not require extra time as the staff had completed the house listing. However, in some towns of Karachi the exercise was still continuing round the clock. According to reports from the census office, the house count has been completed in most districts of Sindh. However, the job remains incomplete in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gadap, Bin Qasim and Malir Towns.
