The three-day annual Karachi Music Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi will end today (Sunday). It features musical genres such as classical, ghazal, pop and rock, among others.

Renowned singers like Humera Channa, Hanna Nasrullah, Salman Alvi, Karam Abbas Khan, Ghulam Abbas, Ustaad Hamid Ali Khan, Zafar Ramay, Ishtiaq Bashir, Ikhlaq Bashir, Fateh Ali Khan, Imran Abbas, Farhat Niaz, Kamran Saghu, Asma Lata, Mazhar Amrai, Muhammad Ali, Abid Husain among 40 other well-known singers will entertain the audience with their mesmerising vocals.
Murad, in his inaugural speech, said that the people of Karachi have been craving peace and entertainment for a long time. He also said that the provincial government has successfully brought about peace and stability to the city of lights, with the Arts Council also bringing engaging and educational forms of entertainment to residents.

Heaping further praise on the Arts Council, the CM acknowledged that the activities and efforts of the organisation deserve to be promoted and vowed that the Sindh government is will fully support their efforts to promote entertainment in the city. Murad said that while progress and prosperity is important for the development of a society, entertainment is also a crucial element in promoting peace and culture.
Another reason to organise the music festival was to remember the giants in the Pakistani music industry. Icons such as Noor Jehan, Mehdi Hasan, Alan Faqeer and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan were all celebrated at the festival and their achievements recognised.
Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi President Ahmed Shah said that the council will do everything in its power to promote the city of lights' culture and has largely been successful in doing so. And in order to do so, the Arts Council will keep hosting new plays for the audiences, he said.
He said that this music festival is a chain of a series of programmes that were held as part of Pakistan's 70th Independence Day celebrations. These celebrations will continue till December 31, during which many programmes will be organised.

Artists all over the country were made part of the music festival, which was a contributing factor to the festival’s success.
Ahmed was hopeful that this musical festival will be the biggest in the country. The Arts Council’s music committee chairperson Kashif Girami said that under the stewardship of Ahmed, audiences have been treated to a number of remarkable shows.
Ahmed, Arts Council Secretary Aijaz Ahmed Farooqi, Bashir Sadoozai, Kashif Girami and Iqbal Latif presented flowers to the CM.
