Local government cancels holiday  

Punjab Government Minister said that special teams had been constituted for checking all arrangements in this regard

LAHORE: The Punjab government has cancelled public holiday of all local government institutions in the province on 12th of Rabiul Awwal to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (peace be upon him) in a befitting manner. Punjab Government Minister Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt announced this on Friday. He said that the directions had been issued for completion of patch-work of roads, removing hanging cables and clearing roads etc for smooth flow of Milad processions on the day. He said that special teams had been constituted for checking all arrangements in this regard. Any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated, he warned. The minister said that directions had already been issued for repairing street lights and making drinking water arrangements all along the routes of Milad processions.
