Uma Thurman breaks silence on Harvey Weinstein with chilling message

Actor who worked on seven films with disgraced mogul says she is taking pleasure in his downfall

Uma Thurman has broken her silence regarding the ongoing barrage of sexual allegations against Harvey Weinstein, saying: “I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet.”

Thurman worked on multiple films with the disgraced Hollywood mogul, including classics such as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. 

She recently posted a picture of herself from one of those movies on the social media, in which she was dressed as 'The Bride' from Kill Bill. 

In the post, ostensibly about Thanksgiving, she said she was “grateful today, to be alive, for all those I love, and for all those who have the courage to stand up for others”.

In her recent comments, Thurman seemed to confirm that she too had been a victim of sexual harassment and abuse rampant in Hollywood.

Thurman had played a woman bent on avenging her unborn child in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, as she tracked down, tortured and killed her abusers one by one in the movie.  Her post was all to reminiscent of the vengeful thriller.

“I feel it’s important to take your time, be fair, be exact, so … Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! [Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet].”

She ended with the words “stay tuned”, suggesting plans to reveal more soon.

The statement came weeks after Thurman was first asked about Weinstein by Access Hollywood. Her rage is obvious in the footage.

“I don’t have a tidy soundbite for you, because I have learned, I am not a child. And I have learned that when I’ve spoken in anger, I usually regret the way I express myself,” she said.

“So, I’ve been waiting to feel less angry, and when I’m ready, I’ll say what I have to say.”

Actor Rose McGowan, one of the first to come forward with allegations against Weinstein, applauded the statement by Uma Thurman, tweeting about it and saying: “Hi Uma. Welcome.”
