Fight breaks out in stands during first Ashes Test

Police were alarmed and tried to calm the situation around the ground

During the first Ashes Test between Australia and England in Brisbane, a fight broke out in the stands between two spectators, which quickly turned violent.

The opening Test match is just in its second day at the Gabba ground. A series of pictures shows the two men hitting each other while Australian fans appear amused during the encounter.

The fight occurred in the section at the Gabba ground where Australian spectators were sitting. British fans, known as the ‘Barmy Army’, were seen on the other side of the ground.

Photographs clearly show how male fans started hitting each other as other spectators tried to pull away the opponents.

Police were alarmed and tried to calm the situation around the ground.

The fight happened during Australia’s first innings after England scored 302 runs. Since England’s previous win in the last series between the two teams, Australia aims to reclaim the famous urn.
