BAHAWALPUR: A child died of snake bite in an agricultural field in Chishtian on Thursday.

A police official said that two-year-old Usman was present in a field where his mother was busy picking cotton from the crop. “In the meantime, a snake bit the child and as a result, he fell unconscious.”

The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment but he could not survive, the official added. The police handed over the body to the family of the victim after legal formalities.
