No one knows who is responsible for keeping Sindh’s cities and towns clean
KARACHI: I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the unhygienic conditions prevailing in various areas of Karachi for a long time.
No one knows who is responsible for keeping Sindh’s cities and towns clean. There is confusion about whether the Karachi mayor has the authority to enforce garbage lifting and to stop gutters from overflowing. No one knows for sure whether it is the function of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation or of the provincial government. While this confusion persists the common people continue to suffer due to piles of garbage and gutter overflows. If cleanliness, they say, is next to godliness, then what filth and dirt is?
