Reports of the transgender community being denied access to healthcare facilities appeared in the media
MULTAN: A few days back, reports of the transgender community being denied access to healthcare facilities appeared in the media. Another recent report highlights the similarity of the situation towards HIV patients regardless of their sexual and gender orientation. That is, how the latter are commonly discriminated against and refused medical treatment on a daily basis. As HIV patients fail to receive treatment like others for minor ailments, access to treatment for a disease as dangerous as HIV might be even less possible and difficult owing to the prejudice and social stigma attached to the disease.
