Army chief launches major initiative for Balcohistan

Gen Qamar approves all aspects in security domain about the project

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa launched the ‘Khush Hal Balochistan’ project on Thursday aimed at enduring stability through socioeconomic development and security in the province.

The army chief visited the Headquarters Southern Command, Quetta in connection with the execution of the initiative where he presided over a high-level meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command, Lt-General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq and senior military commanders and officials of provincial administration concerned.

COAS assures continued support for Balochistan uplift

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on the occasion said: “The army will provide full support to the federal and provincial governments for the success of the ‘Khush Hal Balochistan' (KHB) initiative.”

“The programme in fact is ‘Khush Hal Balochistan-Khush Hal Pakistan',” the army chief added.

The army chief and the chief minister were briefed in detail by the officials concerned about the socioeconomic and security environment and the plan for the execution of the Khush Hal Balochistan Programme was discussed in detail.

A few aspects required further deliberation at staff level which will be finalised accordingly in next few days, an Inter Services Public Relation press release said.

COAS to students: Beware of anti-state propaganda

All aspects in the security domain were approved by the COAS, the ISPR said, and added “details of the complete KHB initiative will be shared soon”.

The Balochistan chief minister appreciated contributions of the security apparatus in improving stability in the province and support for the execution of the KHB plan.

The Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed in a tweet that the Khush Hal Balochistan project is all set to the launched, aimed at enduring stability through socio-economic development and security in the province.

Earlier, upon arrival, the COAS was received by Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa.
