Money, service card, CNIC found on deceased

PESHAWAR: An assistant commissioner from Shangla was found dead outside a hotel in the jurisdiction of the Kabuli police station last night.

Talking to The Express Tribune, a Kabuli police official said that last night a man was found unconscious, outside the Rose Hotel and was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

“He was later identified as Shangla Assistant Commissioner Syed Qadir who had a service card as well as a CNIC and Rs80,000 in his pocket,” the officer said, adding that the man was in Peshawar due to a court hearing and was staying at a local hotel located on Shoba Chowk.

“The doctors cited a cardiac arrest as the cause of death but we have launched an investigation and sent the body for an autopsy to see if there was any foul play involved,” he added, saying that an autopsy report would confirm the cause of death.
