No to Chinese currency

the government has declined China’s demand for using its currency in the Gwadar free zone

KARACHI: In a commendable move, the government has declined China’s demand for using its currency in the Gwadar free zone under the CPEC framework. As Pakistan’s economy struggles with deficits and declining trade figures, allowing the use of another currency in a potential future economic hub would have resulted in unfavourable consequences for the rest of the trade zones of the country.
