Walk held to mark Universal Children’s Day

FAISALABAD:
The district administration, in collaboration with Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, Child Rights Movement and Alif Ailan of Pakistan, arranged a walk on Monday to mark the Universal Children’s Day.

The walk was led by Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor, MPAs Madiha Rana and Dr Najma Afzal.

People from different walks of life participated in the walk. Kids from Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, SOS village, special education and different government schools also took part in the event.

Children’s access to education is a right


The walk started from Deputy Commissioner Complex and culminated at District Council Chowk after passing through the district courts and Agriculture University Road.

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans regarding rights of children and their protection.

The DC appreciated the role of NGOs working for protection of children’s rights and said the district administration would provide all-out support in this regard.

MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor said that proper guidance is a must for bringing up a child in a better way. MPAs Dr Najma Afzal and Madiha Rana said that children were prime concern of the government and various welfare policies were being followed to make children useful citizens of Pakistan.
