ISLAMABAD: World Health Orgnisation (WHO) and National Institute of
Health (NIH) jointly organised a walk on raising awareness on the misuse and over use of antibiotics resulting in Antibiotic Resistance (AMR).

NIH and WHO jointly organised the walk in connection with the World Antibiotic Awareness Week being observed from 13-19 November.

The walk was one of the several awareness creating activities planned in Islamabad and also across the country to create better understanding on AMR.

The walk began at NIH gate and ended at the entrance gate leading towards Park Road.

Every year in November, the World Antibiotics Awareness Week (WAAW) presents an opportunity to educate the public, health professionals, and policymakers on the dangers of antibiotic resistance and ways to combat it at local, national and global levels.
