KARACHI:

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has proposed jointly hosting the World Cup with their Indian counterparts this year. Pakistan are looking forward to India replying favourably.

According to the PBCC President Syed Sultan Shah, the World Cup was supposed to be held last year but none of the nine members of the World Blind Cricket Council were willing to spend $40 million on hosting the event. Shah, therefore, has suggested that the country’s board will meet the Indian Blind Cricket Council on May 13 and chalk out a solution to co-host the World Cup and also discuss the bilateral series between the two countries, scheduled for November.

“The World Cup is the biggest issue for us, it needs to be held this year,” Shah told The Express Tribune. “India is showing an interest in hosting the tournament and so is South Africa. But security remains an issue.”
