LAHORE: Employees of the health department will not lose their jobs because the government does not have any plans to privatise hospitals, reiterated Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazir.

He was addressing Sehat Khidmat Award ceremony held at the conference room of Town Hall on Tuesday. The event was organised to encourage the officers and officials of the District Health Authority Lahore, who performed well in their duties.

“Dedicated and diligent medial staff is crown in our head and the government would encourage officials to perform their duties diligently. However, he warned that there was no room for elements showing carelessness and negligence in their duties.

Nazir said that Sehat Khidmat Awards was started on the orders of the chief minister to create a competition in the health department for improving the working of the public sector hospitals.

He added no organisation could be made fully vibrant without a system of punishments and rewards for employees. “Encouragement of officers and other staff is equally important so that they could continue showing good performance and help improve the service delivery mechanism of the hospitals.”
