Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif presided over an informal meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab House, Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to Express News, the ruling party’s top leadership deliberated on its future political and legal strategy in wake of Sharif’s appearances in the accountability court and NAB references against the Sharif family.
Nawaz gets 7-day exemption to appear before court
Ex-premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz and senior party leaders including Khawaja Saad Rafique, Abid Sher Ali, Maryam Aurangzeb, Daniyal Aziz, Amir Muqam and Asif Kirami were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Attorney General for Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Advocate Khawaja Harris and the legal team of PML-N also attended the meeting to oversee the party’s legal affairs. The lawyers also briefed the party’s leadership on legal matters.
