Long distance fraud Illegal PCOs raided in Khyber Agency

Political administration of Khyber-Agency arrested Afghan refugees for selling illegal mobile SIMs.

LANDIKOTAL: The political administration of Khyber-Agency arrested Afghan refugees for selling illegal mobile SIMs to public call offices (PCO) owners.

The operation was initiated on the directives of the Political Agent, Khyber Agency, Shafirullah Khan and Assistant Political Agent (APA) Mohammad Iqbal Khattak against dozens of PCOs running with illegal Afghan SIMS. During the operation the PCO owners were taken into custody and hundreds of SIMs of mobile companies from Afghanistan taken into possession. The political administration registered cases against the PCO owners and sent them to the lock-up of the political administration in Landi Kotal.The political official said that checking of the visitors to the Pak-Afghan border and their vehicles has been tightened. The personnel of the Khasadar Force have been deployed for traffic control and protection of the goods carrying vehicles.
