'Load-shedding for industries to end’

'Though smog had created some disturbances in power supply, Iesco has sufficient electricity'

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) Chief Executive Officer Basit Zaman issued orders to his officers on Saturday to immediately end load-shedding for the local industry. He issued these orders during a meeting with a delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) that called on him, led by ICCI President Sheikh Amir Waheed, stated a press release. Though smog had created some disturbances in power supply, Iesco has sufficient electricity, said Zaman. He assured that the industry would not be subjected to any load-shedding in normal circumstances. He said that Iesco was setting up a call centre to handle complaints that would help in timely redress of consumers’ issues. Iesco was working to renovate or upgrade its electricity systems in markets, Zaman added, however, he clarified that in case of burning of a transformer in market; it was the responsibility of concerned owner to arrange its replacement.
