Protest leads to death of eight-month-old child who got stuck in traffic owing to blockade of roads
ISLAMABAD: On November 10th, supporters of a cleric staged a sit-in in Isalmabad, demanding that the government punish those who amended the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat clause in the constitution despite it already being withdrawn. The protest caused commotion and disruption in the traffic flow in the city and many were stranded on roads for hours. Yet the government took no urgent action against the demonstrators who should have no right to use busy commercial roads or gateways as a place for protests. The protest also led to the death of an eight-month-old child who got stuck in traffic owing to the blockade of roads, when he was on the way to hospital. Such situations need stringent actions against those causing disruptions in the flow of traffic.
