Punjab police finalises security plan for Chehlum

Members of peace committee will remain present in mourning procession to handle any untoward situation

SARGODHA: The police have finalised foolproof security plan for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in Sargodha District.

In this regard, procession routes had been divided into seven sectors where 1,200 police officials will perform duties.

Superintendent of Police Bilal Iftikhar will be the security incharge of all the routes while three DSPs, 14 SHOs and troops of elite force will also be present on the routes according to the plan.

Mourners will be allowed to participate in the processions and majalis after a thorough checking. All joining streets and roads will be sealed with razor wires.

In addition, lighting arrangements, monitoring with CCTV cameras and video recording will be carried out for ensuring foolproof security during the chehlum majalis. A control room had also been established in district police office where all processions and majalis would be monitored.

The members of peace committee will remain present in the mourning procession to handle any untoward situation.
