But sometimes, one's fandom can take a gruesome turn, as Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan learnt recently. On November 2, Varun was forced into filing a police complaint requesting immediate action against a female fan who has apparently been bombarding him with messaging over WhatsApp, reported Mid-day.

In the complaint, the Student of the Year star shared that when the messages turned annoying, he blocked the fan's number. However, just days later, he got a phone call from an unidentified person who threatened that she would commit suicide if he did not respond to her, a senior police officer told mid-day.
To save the situation before it got worse, Varun consulted his legal advisors and finally, filed a complaint with the Mumbai police. He first approached the local police but was directed to Santacruz police station as his residence falls under that jurisdiction.

An officer from there, on condition of anonymity, said, "We have received a complaint from Varun Dhawan and are in the process of finding out details about the person who had called him. The number has been switched off ever since the call was made."
Sadly, this is not the first time that Varun has had an 'intense' fan experience. In June earlier this year, a 17-year-old girl named Aditi Surana ran away from her home in Raipur to meet the Judwaa 2 star in Mumbai. The police found her at Kanjurmarg railway station and then set up a meeting between the two. Varun was, however, distressed to know she had run away from home.
