RAWALPINDI: As many as 11 policemen were awarded various departmental punishments by CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi on dereliction from duty, poor investigation and other charges.

According to police spokesman, the CPO took action against the cops in accordance with the law during a meeting held here at CPO office.

He informed that ASI Zafar Iqbal and two constables, Irfan Zulfiqar and Irfan Hussain, were dismissed from service. SI Rab Nawaz was punished with demotion and made ASI. SI Faqeer Hussain was demoted two steps while two-year service of ASI Ijaz Ahmed was forfeited. ASI Aqeel Hussain was punished with two steps salary reduction. Constable Talat Shahzad was penalised with two-year service forfeiture. Similarly, three constables, Mudasir Akhtar, Azhar Mahmood and Rizwan Rashid were punished with two steps salary reduction.
