Chehlum Processions: 6,000 cops to perform security duty

SARGODHA: At least 44 processions and 64 majalis will be held on the eve of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) throughout the region. For the purpose, 6,000 police officials, and 1,558 volunteers will be deployed for the security of the mourners. Regional Police Officer Dr Muhammad Akhtar Abbas said that stringent security arrangements will be ensured throughout the region for the chehlum. He added there was no sectarian issue in the region and meetings with religious leaders of all sects had been convened. He said maintenance of peace was assured by all the stakeholders concerned.
