LAHORE: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said his organisation will start courses in collaboration with USAID. Agriculture, dairy, livestock and IT-related courses will be part of the programme. While addressing a meeting in this regard on Monday at the TEVTA Secretariat, the chairman said a moot with USAID officials decided to introduce the courses. He confirmed that both sides agreed to start the courses in three sectors. He said USAID was interested in starting courses for women, especially programmes for beauticians. “Women consist half of our country’s population; therefore, they should be given equal opportunities,” he said. “This was the reason TEVTA was focusing more on female technical and vocational training,” he added. Sheikh said that besides USAID, TEVTA was already working with China, Germany, Turkey and Sri Lanka.
