SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Zahild Latif Malik said on Friday that the promotion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and women entrepreneurs was SCCI's top-most agenda.

Talking to a group of journalists on Friday, he said that the chamber is focusing on resolving the problems being faced by the city's business community, including a severe shortage of skilled and semi-skilled workforce. This, he said, is hindering production activities in this export hub, adding that a 'technology university' is being established to solve the issue.

Social entrepreneurs want better support

The SCCI president further said that a “knowledge city” spread over 500 acres of land has also been planned near Sambrial which will host campuses of several universities including National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and National Textile University Faisalabad.
