Sharif is becoming paranoid about 'untold conspiracies': Aitzaz
PPP senior leader rules out any alliance with the deposed premier, says democracy has no threats
Veteran PPP leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has accused Nawaz Sharif of ‘political shadow-boxing’, saying that the deposed prime minister is constantly claiming that conspiracies are being hatched against him.
“The ousted prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, whose PML-N party is in power at the Centre as well as in Punjab, is claiming that ‘someone’ is conspiring against him,” Ahsan told reporters in Islamabad.
“He should tell us how democracy is under threat if the PML-N is enjoying power at the Centre,” he added.
Ruling out any electoral alliance with the PML-N, the PPP veteran said Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, were making desperate attempts to escape an accountability court against them in graft cases. “But they cannot escape – their conviction is inevitable now.”
Aitzaz went on to add that Sharif always conspired to undermine the PPP and democracy by joining hands with the military, judiciary and establishment.
