PESHAWAR: All retired employees working on extensions in public sector universities are violating the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s orders and should be removed. This was said by the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA), Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), during a meeting on Friday. Professor Dr Fida Mohammad, central president FAPUASA, chaired the meeting.

People at the meeting appreciated the initiative of the University of Peshawar to remove all retired employees on various positions.

The participants, however, expressed deep concern over retired officials still working in the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar. FAPUASA members said that if the university administrations failed to implement the Supreme Court verdict, FAPUASA will have to chart a future course of action accordingly.

FAPUASA K-P President Prof Dr Johar Ali, UET Peshawar Teaching Association President Siddiq Akbar and representatives of various teachers’ associations’ attended.
