HYDERABAD:

Two people were injured in firing and three vehicles, including a police mobile-unit, were torched on Friday when the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) announced a strike.

JSMM - Shafi Burfat Group had given the strike call in reaction to the killing of its vice-chairman Sirai Qurban Khawarh and two other activists in an ambush in Sanghar on Thursday.

The police mobile-unit was torched by unidentified men on Wadu Wah Road in Qasimabad but no one was hurt. The protesters also set fire to a container on Hyderabad Bypass after they opened fire at the driver and cleaner.

Meanwhile, the attackers also torched a bus after evicting all its passengers near the bridge on River Indus which connects Kotri Tehsil of Jamshoro with Hyderabad. The classes in three universities in Jamshoro could not take place as very few students turned up.
