SHABQADAR: Locals in Shabqadar refused to get their children vaccinated during the ongoing anti-polio drive to protest against 18-hour electricity load shedding in their area.

The locals of Union Councils Rasakai and Panjpao of Shabqadar demanded developmental work in the areas and an end to increased load shedding. They have established a protest camp in Peer Qila demanding their due rights.

Anti-polio drive begins in K-P, FATA, Balochistan

The protesters are of the view that their area was being ignored and no developmental work had taken place in the area for a very long time.

Meanwhile, Health Department officials and local administration have reached the camp and negotiations are underway with locals for addressing their grievances and starting the inoculation.
