Stranger Things season 2 is back!

A year has passed since a supernatural demon terrorised the town of Hawkins, Indiana, but as Netflix’ hit 1980s science fiction series Stranger Things returns for a second season, life has not returned to normal for the unlikely heroes.

The adults and teenagers of Stranger Things 2 wrestle emotionally with the events of the first season: a town boy’s disappearance, a death, a mysterious girl with superpowers and a decaying parallel universe called the Upside Down.

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed that the stars of the  series – including Millie Bobby Brown (13), Finn Wolfhard (14), Gaten Matarazzo (15), Noah Schnapp (13) and Caleb McLaughlin (16) – earn approximately USD$30,000 (that's AUD$51,300) per episode.

So, basically, the teenagers have cashed in AUD$670,000 so far from the first two series alone.

While it’s hard to imagine earning so much at such a young age, it was made apparent at the Stranger Things premiere that, while young in age, the cast is mature beyond their years.

The cast is already signed up to appear on the show for six continuous years, with the likelihood of their salaries rising by the season.

It was further reported that, “If the series has any luck at the Emmys, [their salaries] will only intensify.”

In addition to their mega cash drop per episode, it’s further been reported that the stars were given “a less than six figure bonus” once the show gained traction and Netflix realised how popular the show had become.

The success has been nothing short of humbling for the young cast.
