Lecturer’s Kidnapping: Strike observed in Khuzdar district

QUETTA: A complete shutter-down strike was observed in Khuzdar district on Thursday to protest against the abduction of a lecturer of Engineering University Khuzdar, Abdul Hameed Mengal.

Mengal was kidnapped on Tuesday night by a group of armed men. The strike call was given by Baloch Student Organizations (BSO-Azad) Khuzdar chapter.

All shops, markets and restaurants remained closed for the day.

Teachers and students have boycotted classes to support the strike call and register their protest against the kidnapping.

Spokesperson of BSO-Azad accused security forces of abducting the lecturer.

“We have apprehensions that the security forces will soon torture him to death and dump his bullet-riddled body in any area of Balochistan like they have done with other Baloch missing persons,” he alleged.

amarjamali | 13 years ago | Reply i think the lecturer has been kidnaped by bla activists who wants to draw attention of the peoples of balochistan and trying to get sympathies of balochs by kidnaping and killing their own balochs and then blaming security forces because they think that by doing so they can instigate baloch peoples against state.an evidence of this bloodsheding strategy adopted by baloch liberation army is that they are mainly targeting teachers.students and development infrastucture because they and their fuadal lords know that they can easly misguide illitrate peoples rather than educated and sensible baloch citizens.i think educated balochs should come farward and inform common innocent balochs about the mellafied intentions of these fudal lord or sardars who are leading luxurious lifes in different countries.
