ANP’s district leader Abdul Razzaq and his brother Abdul Khaliq were on their way to Pishin to attend Asfand Yar Wali’s public gathering there, when the incident occurred.
The IED detonated when their car was passing through a dry canal near Shahrag, according to a Levies official. The blast destroyed the vehicle.
Rescue workers and Levies personnel reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
No group has so far come forward to claim responsibility for the blast.
Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, accompanied by Minister for Education Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, visited the blast site.

“We won’t be deterred from our mission to counter terrorism, and elements behind the killing will be brought to justice,” Bugti said after visiting the bereaved family in Shahrag.
He condemned the attack and assured the victims’ family of full cooperation from the provincial government.
Levies officials, however, did not confirm whether the explosive device was planted on Razzaq’s vehicle or in the road.
The bodies were handed over to their relatives for burial while Levies personnel have started the investigation.
