QUETTA: A local ANP leader and his brother were killed when an improvised explosive device (IED) blasted under their vehicle near Shahrag in Harnai district of Balochistan on Friday morning.

ANP’s district leader Abdul Razzaq and his brother Abdul Khaliq were on their way to Pishin to attend Asfand Yar Wali’s public gathering there, when the incident occurred.

The IED detonated when their car was passing through a dry canal near Shahrag, according to a Levies official. The blast destroyed the vehicle.

He condemned the attack and assured the victims’ family of full cooperation from the provincial government.

Levies officials, however, did not confirm whether the explosive device was planted on Razzaq’s vehicle or in the road.
