QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday said the US would face the same defeat and humiliation the former Soviet Union had gone through.

“India and the US are conspiring against Pakistan and opposing CPEC. However, JUI workers and supporters will frustrate their nefarious designs,” the JUI-F leader said while addressing a big public meeting at the Ayub Stadium in Quetta in connection with the Mufti Mahmud’s anniversary,

He accused international NGOs of waging a propaganda against seminaries and spreading obscenity and corruption in the country.

Fazl suggested that the number of seats of Balochistan in parliament should be increased as “present representation of the province is insignificant.”

He was of the view that seminaries were a symbol of stability of Pakistan and the Constitution “for which they are being targeted by INGOs”.

He declared that his party would oppose and resist the moves against national solidarity and unity of the country and the supremacy of the Constitution, using democratic means in defeating the opponent.

He said seminaries’ students had been making contribution in defending Pakistan, its constitution and democracy. “They will continue to be a bulwark of integrity of Pakistan, its Constitution and democracy.”
