NAB DG has an authentic degree, spokesperson affirms

Allegations that a top National Accountability Bureau official has a fake degree have been hatched as a conspiracy to weaken graft cases against powerful individuals, NAB spokesperson said while talking to the media.
The spokesperson added that NAB Punjab DG Shahzada Saleem’s MSc in Computer Science degree from Al-Khair University in Azad Kashmir has also been attested by the Higher Education Commission.
During this time, he also arrested 200 persons involved in corruption cases, according to the spokesperson.
Saleem recovered Rs4.78 billion in K-P during the three years from 2014 to 2017, which was more that the regional office’s total recoveries in the past 14 years – Rs1.35 billion, he said.
"Indirectly, he recovered Rs1.66 billion and arrested 366 persons during his three-year tenure, while the previous 14 years saw 420 corrupt persons arrested."
Even during his appointment in K-P, he maintained an impressive record against corruption, he praised.
The spokesperson revealed that during the first 14 years, 449 cases were filed in K-P, while during Saleem’s tenure as DG, 126 references were filed and the arrest rate increased 300 times.
