Now the committee is not only supposed to look into the case but also find the causes for the delay

ISLAMABAD: A news report published on October 26th in the Daily Express bought forward the issue of a rape case that took place at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences hospital Islamabad over a year ago. While the accused was removed from service, the committee formed to inquire into the matter has still not taken a decisive action against the perpetrator. Now the committee is not only supposed to look into the case but also find the causes for the delay while the accused remains on bail.

According to the report, at the recent meeting of the committee, members were unable to give satisfactory replies to the queries about the details of the case. From doctors’ strike to sexual assaults, hospitals in the country have become places of horror. Therefore, investigations against the culprit is certainly not enough, the management ought to ensure that patients do not experience another trauma while they are already being treated for one.
