Ailing MNA from NA-120

Letter October 26, 2017
PML-N should consider other possible options to bring in another candidate for the constituency

LAHORE: Almost a month ago, the ousted PM’s ailing wife, Kulsoom Nawaz, defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Yasmeen Rashid by a narrow margin. Her election campaign was run by her daughter while she received medical treatment in London for her throat cancer. However, it has been over a month and the candidate has been repeatedly admitted to the hospital for several rounds of surgeries due to her deteriorating health. Although the nation awaits her recovery regardless of the political aspect, considering the state of her health, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz should consider other possible options to bring in another candidate for the constituency or appoint a caretaker till the elected MNA is back and able to perform her duties.
