The statement comes days after Nawaz condemned "suppression of voice of dissent in the country, saying that attempts to curb social media freedom were tantamount to attack on freedom of expression".
He was responding to reports that PML-N supporters were being arrested for their social media posts.
Earlier in the day, Maryam, in another tweet, advised political rivals to fear her father who did not believe in revenge.
"Fear the person who does not take revenge & entrusts his affairs to Allah and leaves it to HIM to deal with the enemies," she said.
