The election supervisory body on Monday issued the polling scheme for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seat which had fallen vacant after the death of PTI MNA Gulzar Kham.
According to the details, there would be 269 polling stations and 837 polling booths in the constituency. Of the booths, 147 would be for males, 111 for females and 11 for both.
The ECP would also depute 269 presiding officers, 837 assistant presiding officers and 837 polling officers to supervise the polling process.
The constituency comprises Patwar circles – Urmer Bala, Urmer Miana, Urmer Payan, Mera Kachori, Tamab, Chamkani and Phandu of Peshawar district.
The ECP has also decided to establish a control room at the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad under the supervision of an additional director general (Elections) on the polling day to receive complaints.
A total of 15 candidates are vying for the constituency, including candidates from the PML-N, PTI, PPP, ANP, JI and the newly-registered religious party Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan. Besides, nine independent candidates are also in the fray.
