Through a verse quoted by the Chief Minister Office that was apparently directed towards Khan, the CM accused the PTI chief of following in his footsteps. “Wo jo katra k guzerta tha mere saye sy; Ab suna ha k mere naqsh-e-qadm dhondta ha,” the chief minister tweeted.
The criticism of Imran’s decision of launching the BRT in Peshawar has come against the back drop of PTI’s harsh opposition to the Lahore Metro Bus project, which it termed jangla (cage) bus service. The project was criticised by the PTI for high cost of construction, bifurcating the city and unnecessary expenditure at the expense of education and health.
Later, the PTI-led government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa announced that it would introduce its own metro bus service in Peshawar. The Punjab CM, in his recent addresses, has not only criticised the K-P government for announcing the project, but also for failing to begin its construction.
