IED goes off in Lower Dir market

No casualty reported

PESHAWAR: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Chakdara's Sapna market in Lower Dir distrcit on Sunday.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Lower Dir District Police Office (DPO) Nowsher Khan confirmed the blast, saying no casualties have been reported so far.

"The bomb disposal squad reached the site to check the intensity of the explosion," he added.

The official said the market, famous for women's clothes, was closed as it was a Sunday. The area has been cordoned off as police began investigating the incident.

Two security personnel martyred in FR Bannu IED blast
Last week, two security personnel were martyred in an explosion in FR Bannu. The vehicle of the security personnel was attacked near Jalal check-post by a remote-controlled IED, officials said.
