In an attempt to repair the party’s image in the wake of the oath controversy, Shehbaz said, “This belief forms the foundation of our faith, and whosoever denies the Finality of Prophethood cannot be considered a Muslim.”
The Constitution, he said, also endorsed faith in the Finality of Prophethood and the PML-N’s faith in this regard was unshakeable.
The Punjab CM highlighted the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and asked Ulema to focus on his teachings in their sermons.

He said he swiftly responded when the controversy erupted over the change in the oath’s wording and still owned his statement to punish anyone found guilty of this sacrilegious act.
The meeting was also attended by provincial ministers, including Rana Sanaullah and Syed Zaeem Qadri, the province’s chief secretary and additional chief secretary, the IGP and other officials concerned.
The delegation of scholars comprised Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasnat Shah, Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Siyalvi, Pir Aijaz Hashmi, Maulana Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Pir Syed Tahir Saeed Kazmi, Mufti Intekhab Ahmed, Pirzada Usman, Mufi Muhammad Ramazan Siyalvi, Mufti Muhammad Haseeb Qadri, Mufti Imran Hanfi, Maulana Abdul Mustafa Hazarvi, Maulana Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi and others.
