QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani on Thursday warned doctors to resume working within 24 hours or face the axe.

Doctors across Balochistan continued their strike for a second day, protesting against the murder of Quetta Bolan College professor Dr Mumtaz Haider.

Out-patient departments and operation theatres of public hospitals across the province remained closed yesterday, on the call of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA).

Speaking to Express News, PMA Balochistan president doctor Sultan Tareen said that although the doctors were on strike, patients in emergency wards and operation theatres would still be attended to. He also said the government is responsible for the security of doctors.
