SHABQADAR: The vice chancellor of the financially over-burdened, Bacha Khan University (BKU) Charsadda has revised downwards the pays of the faculty members of the university. A notification issued by VC Saqlain Naqvi read that salaries of BPS-19 employees have been cut from Rs70,000, to Rs60,000 and BPS-18 from 50,000 to Rs35,000, while those of BPS-17 will have their pays cut from Rs40,000 to Rs30,000. The VC also has reduced salaries of clerical staff of BPS-16 to BPS-12. Naqvi while talking to the local media in his office said the pay-revision was due to financial constraints. The funds provided by the HEC and tuition fee received from students were insufficient to run the institution.
