Tubelight’s lack of success came as a surprise to many and Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan, recently expressed his opinions regarding the reasons behind it. “Tubelight was a good film, which would have done well if any other actor had starred in it,” he said. “But to have an action hero like Salman, getting constantly beaten up and crying all the time just didn’t work with the audience.”

Nonetheless, Salman has been trying his very best to work as hard as possible and make his next film, Tiger Zinda Hai a blockbuster. Regardless of the no-so-fruitful year though, Salu bhai has managed to outrank Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar to become the Bollywood icon of 2017.

As per the annual youth survey conducted by Hindustan Times, the Sultan star has managed to earn 18.3% of the votes – taking hold of the top spot, whilst Shah Rukh Khan came second with 15.3%. Akshay secured the third position and Bollywood’s angry young man, Amitabh Bachchan ranked fourth.

Salman Khan should be taught a lesson: Shiv Sena

On the work front, Salman Khan seems to have a few projects lined up after Tiger Zinda Hai, including Race 3, Kick 2 and Dabangg 3.
