Former chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah has been conferred with the honouary award of Malaysian armed forces, the navy said in a statement on Sunday.
King of Malaysia Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad conferred Admiral Zakaullah with the Gallant Commander of Malaysian Armed Forces, First Degree award at a ceremony held at National Palace, Kuala Lumpur.
Change of command: Admiral Abbasi sworn in as naval chief
The award, the communique added, recognises the admiral's outstanding services and commitment for strengthening relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
On October 7, Admiral Zakaullah formally handed over command of the force to Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi following completion of his tenure of service.
